Helping Haitians To Help Haitians Live A Better Life

Ministering By Sharing the Written Word  (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

One day while riding with our Haitian driver, I noticed an English New Testament on his dash.  I asked him if he could read English.  He said, "No." So I wondered why he had that Bible.  My conclusion was that some well meaning American had given what they had to offer.  It was then that I felt the tug of the Spirit telling me to give Bibles in the Haitian Creole language to the people. Bib La means the Bible.

So like we did while we were in Mississippi, where we gave away hundreds of Bibles to the local residents, we have begun the same project here in Haiti.  We plan to give Bibles to pastors for church members and new converts.  We will encourage Pastors to use Bibles to teach their people to read.  The literacy rate in Haiti is 62% contrasted with the United States at 99%. People who live in rural areas are predominatley illiterate.

How You Can Help One Bible cost about $8.00 here in Haiti.  For most Haitians that we minister to, that is out of reach.  The Haitian Bible Society makes the Bibles availble in Port au Prince.  Our goal is to distribute 1000 Bibles.  To flood the land with God's Word.  Will you help us?
